The Proposal
Thursday January 29, 2015

Well we had a trip planned to go to Negril, Jamaica for my sister's 10 Year Vow Renewal and it was my mom, my sisters, their men, and a close friend's of my sister and brother-in-law that all attended. Well it was a wonderful weekend in Jamaica and we were able to enjoy great food, lots of laughs, and witness a beautiful matrimony between my sister and brother-in-law. The pressure was now on for my boyfriend and my sister's boyfriend.
The day of the proposal we spent the day water skiing, parasailing, took a glass bottom boat tour, and I even jumped 30ft from a cliff at Rick's Cafe. We had to rush back for a sunset photo shoot that we had scheduled. We got ready promptly and went to meet the photographer. There were two other couples there when we arrived who were also trying to capture the same sunset shot. The photographer directed us all putting us all in the same positions to capture shots near the palms trees, under the pergola, and on the beach right in front of the ocean. Next thing I know Brandon and I are looking deeply into each other's eyes and it was all a blur from there. He was already down on one knee from the position the photographer had placed him and the other gentleman in for our poses and he says, "Well while I'm down here, and he reaches for his pocket pulling out a box." It literally became a blur because I started crying. Then I realized the photographer was there capturing the entire moment so I'm trying to avoid "The Ugly Cry." Well that didn't work very well. It was such a beautiful moment, a memorable moment, and one that I will never forget. What makes it all better is I use to joke with him about a pin I had seen on Pinterest that said "6 Rules to a Proposal"
1. Ask for my Parents' Blessing
2. Make it a complete surprise
3. Use my full name
4. Get down on one knee
5. Have somebody catch it on camera
6. Make sure my nails are done
Plus, how many people can say that they got engaged on the beaches of Jamaica!
